Important Announcement  •  Lingbao Program

After careful consideration, reflection, and prayer, I’ve decided to postpone the Daoist Priest Ordination program until sometime in 2027. As I reviewed the current source materials and teaching frameworks, it became evident that there were significant gaps and variations in interpretation across different dynasties. To better support you and honor this ancient lineage — along with future generations of Lingbao Daoist students — I’ve chosen to dedicate my time to creating a comprehensive, multi-volume Daoist Encyclopedia. This important work is essential to support your ability to truly integrate and embody the mystical teachings offered throughout the program. Since the Lingbao system deeply intertwines the Family Alchemy, Chinese energetic medicine, and both Daoist and Buddhist mystical teachings, many terms carry layered meanings that can be understood on three different levels. The goal is to develop this encyclopedia before the course begins to make the poetic and sometimes complex language used by ancient masters easier to understand. We hope to present these profound teachings in a way that’s clear and well-organized, so you can learn, embody, and confidently transmit this knowledge onto future generations. I understand that delays can be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for any delays; we’re committed to beginning this program with the depth and clarity that this special material truly deserves. Thank you so much for your trust, ongoing interest, and support! Further updates will be shared as the project progresses.

The Ancient
Lingbao
Teachings

To celebrate the completion of his seven Zhengyi Daoist books on the ancient Lingbao teachings, including The Jade Mirror of Lingbao Magic (Vol. 3) and Lingbao Great Laws & Highest Teachings (Vol. 4), professor Johnson will offer a special three-year Lingbao (Numinous Treasure) Daoist Priest Ordination Course, scheduled to begin in 2027.

This final course on Daoist mysticism is open to the public, and the teachings of the “Supernatural Treasure” will be available to both Dr. Johnson’s former students and their disciples.

The Knowledge
& Training

Due to the rarity of this knowledge, these teachings were historically reserved for only the most dedicated Daoist disciples.

Each apprentice must be carefully guided through progressive stages designed to help reveal and embody these powerful mystical teachings.

To master this ancient system, which integrates:

  • Shangqing Daoist mysticism
  • Mahayana Buddhist mysticism
  • Shamanic-based Chinese alchemy

It is essential (and mandatory) to combine:

  • Private study
  • Group training

Because this knowledge is so rare, it was traditionally shared only with the most dedicated Daoist disciples. Each apprentice is thoughtfully guided through carefully planned stages that help uncover and embrace these.

Prerequisites
& Audience

This program offers a wonderful opportunity for participants to deeply explore their self-cultivation and inner transformation journey. Leveraging the strong foundation established by Dr. Johnson’s work. While open to everyone interested in spiritual growth, it is also a perfect next step for his former students to continue their journey.

Course Structure

While the training follows Dr. Johnson’s seven Lingbao books, each week includes:

  • Assigned readings
  • Group discussions
  • Transmission teachings
  • Advanced meditation training
